Update guide

This guide will help you upgrading your current pluck installation (4.4 or 4.5.x) to the newest version of pluck (4.5.3).

Upgrading from 4.5.2

Use these instructions if you are currently using pluck 4.5.2.

The only thing you'll have to do, is to unpack the pluck 4.5.3 archive, and overwrite some files in your existing installation with the files from the pluck archive.

You should overwrite these files:

  • data/inc/security.php

Upgrading from 4.5.1 or 4.5

Use these instructions if you are currently using pluck 4.5.1 or 4.5.

The only thing you'll have to do, is to unpack the pluck 4.5.3 archive, and overwrite some files in your existing installation with the files from the pluck archive.

You should overwrite these files:

  • data/inc/header.php
  • data/inc/themes/predefined_variables.php
  • data/inc/security.php
  • data/inc/trashcan_viewitem.php
  • data/styleadmin-rtl.css

Upgrading from 4.4 or 4.3

Use these instructions if you are currently using pluck 4.4 or 4.3.

Download

First, you'll have to download the newest version from here. Unpack it on your harddisk. If you use Windows, you can use TUGZip to do this. A Linux-distribution is able to do it by default, without the need to install additional software.

Upload the files

Then, you'll have to upload all files to your pluck installation. Make sure your FTP-client overwrites all existing files, and keeps all other files intact.

Run the script

Pluck 4.5.x features a upgrade script that will do the rest of the work for you. Browse to your pluck installation and open the file update.php. Follow the on-screen instructions. Don't forget to delete update.php after the update!

Older versions

Upgrading from versions older than 4.3 is not supported. You can try to upgrade using the instructions for 4.4/4.3, but we cannot guarantee success.
