777 permissions

I am concerned about security vulnerabilities if I leave 777 permissions on some files or folders. It is Ok to use 777 for installations purposes or temporarily, If I have to lower my permissions, what is the minimum default permissions settings for folders or files in Pluck 4.6.3 and what folders or files? Can I avoid 777 permissions?

Thanks for any help or information about 777 permissions on Pluck 4.6.3.

chmod 777 for directories mean that script can write to this directory. And this isnt security vulnerabilitie smile

Re: 777 permissions

I have a similar question. I had a server crash and had to recover some websites, including my Pluck site. I just dragged the site into the root directory to upload the site recently. I know i will have problems updating in the future. What are the minimum permissions for directories and pages to get this to work correctly again, including modules please?
